Charles Spencer Chaplin 16 April 1889 - 25 December 1977
Difficult childhood because of his divorced parents and the death of his father
Charles became stronger and more united with his brother because of the mental problems of their mother. Chaplin's principal movies His work Beginning
first tour in 1910 in Fred Karno's troup
he decided to continue his career in the USA
he had complicated situations with women but he became a great star A propaganda artist
his most important character was called "the tramp" and it gave birth to his costume
in 1914 he decided to be is own producer and signed a contract with Essanay
he developped his capacities and became an "all in one"
he tried to sell the notion of FREEDOM
after a contract with First National, he built his own studio in Hollywood
he became more serious and made movies like "The Kid" Chaplin and the communism He began to criticize society in his movies
First appearance of communism in "Modern Times"
In 1950, Chaplin was blacklisted by the HUAC
The FBI got involved in the trial in recognition of paternity Chaplin : a hero "A day without laughter is a day wasted" The most complete artist
He came out of a tragic background and became one of the most famous people
He connected the world with his humor
