Chinese Creation Myth
The Beginning
There was a black egg where heaven and earth were combined.
Pangu was within the egg for 18,000 years.
Then one day, Pangu broke out of the egg and died.
Next
Pangu's characteristics transferred to Earth:
His breath became the wind
His voice the thunder
His hair and beard became the stars in the sky.
The flowers and trees aspired from his skin.
Minerals came from his bones.
Pangu's sweat became rain.
Then
After Pangu died, he came back as King Gao Xin's dog.
King Gao Xin said that anyone who brought him his enemies head, King Fang,he would have his daughter's hand in marriage.
Pangu snuck into King Fang's chambers and bit his head off.
Pangu took the head to King Gao Xin.
Finally
King Gao Xin refused to let his daughter marry a dog.
So Pangu told the king, "Cover me with your golden bell for seven days and I will become a man." The king followed these direction.
But on the sixth day the princess let her curiosity get the best of her and she peaked at Pangu.
He had the body of a man but the head of a dog.
He remained that way for the rest of his life.
The daughter of King Gao Xin married the man with the human body and dog head.
