Azolla is a tiny green fern
-Increase the efficiency of nitrogen use.
-Cheapest companion to reduce water pollution.
-Changing strategies of mineral use by integrating organic fertilizers.
-Reduction of greenhouse gases, particularly for CO2 stable organic matter and treat agricultural soils as powerful carbon sinks.
-The roots of azolla has symbiotic relationship with cyanobacterium Anabeana azollae, which fixes atmospheric nitrogen, giving essential nutrient for the plant
