what is
Green logistics
starts with the importance
and consciousness of environment
in 1980’s.
In 1990’s,
with increasing of value of supply chain management between
businesses and sectors,
environment topics starts to
take part in logistics and
supply chain concepts intensively.

In 2000’s,
green logistics and supply chain concepts
were become separate in logistics industry.
In 2000’s, green logistics and supply chain concepts were become separate in logistics industry.

In these years the consumers became more active.
In the beginning, even these concepts just include the transportation, in the sequel, green logistics idea was widen in a way to include all the system.
only transportation
all the system
effects of green logistics
Describes all attempts to measure and minimize the ecological impact of logistics activities.

This includes all activities of the forward and reverse flows of products, information and services between the point of origin and the point of consumption.

green logistics
Reverse logistics is the process of moving goods from their typical final destination for the purpose of capturing value, or proper disposal.
green logistics practices
Transporting the products with small pockets instead of larger ones,
Using eco-friendly fuel in the production and the transportation areas,
Using the vehicles which have eco-friendly motors which called "EURO 5",
Using eco-friendly transportation and distribution systems,
Using recycling material instead of plastic ones in packaging area,
Reducing the packaging process and the materials which are used in this area,
Raising the awareness of the employees and customers of recycle
green logistics practices
Stands for all operations related to the reuse of products and materials. It is "the process of planning, implementing, and controlling the efficient, cost effective flow of raw materials, in-process inventory, finished goods and related information from the point of consumption to the point of origin for the purpose of recapturing value or proper disposal.
reverse logistics
Green logistics management and green supply chain management are synchronous creating of value processes. Thus, there are some common practices. Such as;
reverse logistics.
Green Purchasing: to buy from raw materials to packaging materials in line with green approach strategies and to choose them recyclable or recycled.

Green Production: to implement design and production processes of the products eco-friendly. this aims to inhibit trashes of businesses as from design step.

Green Distribution: to generate an optimal distribution network and thus to minimize distribution costs and the pollution of distribution vehicles.

Green Packaging: to prefer eco-friendly packaging materials. Also, packaging products efficiently decreases the packaging materials and transportation.
Green Reverse Logistics: It is the process of moving goods from their typical final destination for the purpose of capturing value, or proper disposal.
today, green logistics is used in reverse logistics area, at most.

fundamental reverse logistics practices
Recycling: to procure recycled products by using or operationalising used products.

Reusing: It is the process of selling, distributing, reusing of used products, materials and components.

Reproduction: It is the process of procurement the same product by changing parts of used product which has broken.

Destroying: To disposal products and materials need to destroy in the production process by not cause pollution.
As a result, companies should prefer green logistics in order to;
be more efficient,
create competitive advantage,
create employment,
minimize trash of production,
minimize transportation costs,
first and foremost, clean up the carbon footprint and legate more livable world to next generations.
