Blues begun with the African slaves in the 19th Century when they were working, they normally made things up on the spot about their life's as slaves and sang along to the rhythm they were working at,this was called work songs.

Blues and Jazz music normally have specific instruments that are played such as the Double Bass,Saxophone,Drums,Piano ETC

here is an example of some Jazz music by Dave Brubeck, accompanied by the Saxophone,Piano and the Drums.

Blues and Jazz music became more popular in the 1940's where people began to first know of it's name.

Blues and Jazz has slowly developed over the Years as it became more popular around the world









The lyrics of the song are sometimes repeated over 4 times,The lyrics are mostly telling a story about the African slave's life's and what it was like for them.The first publication of blues sheet music was in 1908 by Antonio Maggio's "I Got the Blues" which was the first song to use the word blues. Here is an example of blue's music .
Well-known blues pioneers from the 1920s such as Son House, Blind Lemon Jefferson, Leadbelly, Charlie Patton and Robert Johnson usually performed solo with just a guitar.

Most blue's music is made up of 12 bars,The blues grew up in the Mississippi Delta just over sea's from New Orleans, the birthplace of Jazz. Blues and Jazz have always influenced each other, and they still interact in many ways today.

As the music has developed and spread around the world it has became more popular and upgraded by people's Idea's.

Louis Armstrong was one of the most famous musicians in jazz. Jazz Is still used today in Popular music.

Ella Fitzgerald also known as the "First Lady of Song", "Queen of Jazz" was an American jazz vocalist Born on April 25th 1917, Died on June 15th 1996. Over the course of her 59 year recording career, she sold 40 million copies of her 70 plus albums, won 13 Grammy Awards and was awarded the National Medal of Arts

Swing music, or simply Swing, is a form of American music that developed in the early 1930s and became a distinctive style by 1940. Swing uses a strong rhythm section of double bass and drums.

The name swing came from the phrase ‘swing feel’ where the emphasis is on the off–beat or weaker pulse in the music.
