People of the Civil War 1861-1865 By: Ian Parker Harriet Tubman 1821-1913 Harriet Tubman was a slave woman who helped slaves escape from the South to get to freedom. She was also used as a spy for the union. She was an american civil war. Ulysses S Grant
1822 1885 Ulysses S Grant was a General in the Union army before he became the 18th president of the United States of America. He lead the Army of Tennessee. Shiloh, Vicksburg and Chattanooga were all the battles that he won. Abraham Lincoln 1809-1865 Abraham Lincoln was the sixteenth president. The States that suceeded suceeded because they thought Abraham Lincoln was going to be a bad president. He is most popular for the Gettysburg Address and for being on the penny and five dollar bill John Wilkes Booth
1838-1865 John Wilkes Booth was the man who shot Abraham Lincoln. He was a very famouse stage actor and supported the Confederacy. Albert Rust
1818-1870 Albert Rust was a member of the House of Represenatives. He represented Kansas.
Although he was most important known for being Bridigeir General on the Conferderate side. Robert E Lee
1807-1870 Robert E Lee was one of the most celebrated generals of the Union. President Lincoln asked him to command the entire Union army. Beside general he was also a combat engineer. Seth M. Barton
1829-1900 Seth M Barton was a brigadier general in the Confederate army. Later in life he became a chemist. Jefferson F. Davis
1808-1889 Jefferson F. Davis was the president of the Confederacy. He was also a statesman and a American military officer. He married Sarah Knox Taylor on June, 17 1869. John Ericsson
1803-1889 John Ericsson was born in Värmland, Sweden but came to the United States to grow up. He made the disign of the Monitor. (The second ironclad ship.) John Pope
1822-1892 John Pope was a Union general in the American Civil War. He also had a brief career in the Western Theater. He is most famous for his loss at the Second Battle of Bull Run.
