The Highland Andes provinces we have: Pichincha, Carchi, Tungurahua, Chimborazo, Cañar, Azuay, Loja, Imbabura, Bolívar and Cotopaxi. We have especial dishes like fritada or hornado… From north to south valleys are distinguished its majestic volcanoes and glaciers. Quito is located in the Highlands. Ecuador's Highlands also have the Equator crossing right through them. In Spanish we call it "La Mitad Del Mundo" traduced it is "The Center of the Earth".
Ecuador is divided into four regions and one of them is the coast. The coast is located between the Pacific Ocean and the Andes Mountain. Jungle, fishing villages, mangrove forests , and beautiful beaches run the length of the more than 2,000 Kilometer expanse of Ecuadorian coast. Generally, the region is warm and humid with temperatures averaging 25 degrees C (76 F) to 31 C (90 F). The rainy season, from December to May, is warmer and muggy. The dry season is less humid but by no means dry. Seven distinct provinces make up Ecuador’s coastal region: Esmeraldas, Manabí, Santo Domingo, Guayas, and El Oro, Guayas, and Santa Elena.
47% of Ecuador´s continental landscape corresponds to the Amazonia (rain forest). The Amazon region is characterized by their tropical forest and an incalculable biological diversity, it is composed by the following “provincias”: Sucumbíos, Napo, Orellana, Pastaza, Morona Santiago and Zamora Chinchipe.
Ecuador is one of the countries with more biological diversity in the world with 1600 species of birds, 415 of amphibians and 3500 of orchids at least. Almost half of the surface of Ecuador is covered by Amazon forests. You can find 10 indigenous nationalities in Ecuador Jungle: Achuar, Andoa, Cofán, Kichwa, Secoya, Shiwiar, Shuar, Siona, Waorani and Zápara
Galapagos is what makes Ecuador a much more interesting place. It has beaches that will take your breath away. What makes Galapagos such a wondrous place are the animals. There are animals there that you can't find anywhere else, like Penguins. I know you guys know that penguins only live on cold water, but in Galapagos they live in the beach. Galapagos was also home of Lonesome George. For the people who haven't heard about him he was the last of his species, he died some months ago. Galapagos's islands have 4 types of sands. The red sand, black sand, white sand, and golden sand. If you ever go there you can swim with sharks, meet sea lions, blue footed boobies, colorful fishes, and Iguanas.
