By: Nekia Harris Summary of Chapter 14 eveNTS OF CHAPTER 14 qUOTATIONS IN CHAPTER 14 Around the town of Maycomb County more than just Aunt Alexandra care about what it means to be a "Finch". As if Alexandra's opinions of making Scout behave more "lady-like" aren't enough, she suggests to Atticus that they get rid of Calpurnia. Jem decides that he is part of the "Grown Folk" description and tells Scout that if she continues to antagonize Aunt Alexandra then he'll spank her. They fight and later discover that Dill has runaway under Scout's bed because he is being neglected. With all the commotion going on, Atticus is finding himself afriad that his children are growing up. Scout asks Atticus what rape is
Atticus and Alexandra have a small debate on whether or not Calpurnia should stay
Jem and Scout fight
Dill is found hiding underneath Scout's bed
Dill explains why he left
They mention Arthur Radley
1."They c'n go loose and rape up the countryside for all of 'em who run this county care", was one obscure observation we met head on from a skinny gentleman when he passed us. Pg.180 2. .....I'll go next Sunday if it's all right...."you may not." Aunt Alexandra said it. I wheeled around,.....I said, "I didn't ask you!"
