So to those who justify their opposition to gay adoption and same sex unions by claiming concern for the children, I say this: Thanks for your concern, but there’s no need to worry about us. We’re turning out great.”
What is marriage?

With marriage rate at 6.8, divorce rates are 3.6 per 1,000 people.

The matter is the ring they give to each other.
The form are the Vows: "I, (Name), take you (Name), to be my wife(husband). I promise to be true to you in good times and bad, in sickness and health. I will love you and honor you all the days of my life."

What Can We Do?
Try to have the Church talk more openly about how they view homosexuals, so misunderstandings can be fixed.
Provide counseling to those being harassed and have more strict policies throughout the world protecting homosexuals from hate crimes and discrimination, so that they feel more open and free in the world.
Having more studies prove "myths" and things people are saying true or not.
Have an open mind.
Walk a mile in their shoes.
These include medical decisions.
When one dies, the other will get some or all of your property if they didn’t have a will.
They also are allowed to share the same nursing home room.
Little state level rights (no federal rights)
4 states recognize Civil Unions
Delaware and Rhode Island replaced it with marriage.
recognizing a same sex couples love for each other and relationship allowing them to live together.
They are provided almost the same care and treatment as married couples at a state level, but are not actually married.
2 states grant nearly all state level rights.
3 states and D.C grant limited state level rights.
Now is legal in 16 states.
Illinois's law will take effect June 1, 2014.
Hawaii on December 2, 2013.
33 states banned.

New Mexico has neither banned nor legalized it but as of Aug. 30, 2013, six New Mexico counties are issuing marriage licenses to same-sex couples, either voluntarily or as ordered by state district judges.
As of Sep. 27, 2013, 14 out of 194 countries allow same-sex couples to marry.
