Transcript of Roe vs. Wade

Jane Roe was the alias of Norma L. McCorvey. She lived in Texas where abortion was banned. She took her case to court arguing that abortion should be legal.
Henry wade was the Dallas County Attorney in the Federal Court. He represented Texas and argued that abortion should be banned.
The decision was made on January 22, 1973. The decision was that the state of Texas was violating Ms.Roe's right to privacy. Therefore she should be able to decide if she wants to abort her baby or not.
The reason the court ruled in Ms.Roe's favor is because the Constitutions First, Fourth, Ninth and Fourteenth Amendments protects a persons zone of privacy.
The Roe vs. Wade discussed abortion and if it should be illegal or not. This particular case occurred in Texas, and was taken all the way up to the supreme court.
U.S. Supreme Courts Reason for Decision
How the Case affects Me/My Family/Citizens at Large.
As of right now this case does not affect my life, however if I were to conceive later in life it should be my decision whether i want to keep the child or not. It does not affect my family so much because we have never had an abortion. Lastly, it affects citizens because they should also have the right to decide if they would like to have a child or not, because a child is a big responsibility.
