Once they made it to a free state or Canada they would try to make a living or they could go help on the Underground Railroad When you were on the Underground Railroad you would need to be very alert because it is always dangerous They may also use it because they hate being slaves She was a slave then got free and worked on the Underground Railroad She went on 13 missions to free slaves and freed over 70 people She also did many other things to help slaves This is a Prezi about the Underground Railroad Slaves used it to become free A famous conductor on the railroad was Harriet Tubman If I were a slave I think that you should use the Underground Railroad I think it would be worth the risk to use the Underground railroad even though it would be dangerous it would be worth the risk A song inspired by the Underground railroad is follow the drinking gourd It was a song they sang on the Undergroung Railroad The lyrics of the song are telling you the basic route and describing the setting These are the lyrics
When the sun comes back,
and the first Quail calls,
Follow the drinking gourd,
For the old man is waiting
for to carry you to freedom
If you follow the drinking gourd.

Chorus:
Follow the drinking gourd,
Follow the drinking gourd,
For the old man is waiting
for to carry you to freedom
If you follow the drinking gourd.

The riverbank will make a very good road,
The dead trees show you the way.
Left foot, peg foot traveling on,
Following the drinking gourd.

The river ends between two hills,
Follow the drinking gourd,
There's another river on the other side,
Follow the drinking gourd.

When the great big river meets the little river,
Follow the drinking gourd.
For the old man is waiting
for to carry you to freedom
If you follow the drinking gourd.
