Horses are my favorite animal because i grew up around a lot of animals including horses. Also because they have a lot of interesting facts about them, they are beautiful creatures, and they are very fun to ride.
My Favorite Animal is
Horses are very strong and powerful creatures.
Horse have around 205 bones in their body.
Horses have larger eyes than any other mammal.
There are about 60 million horses on earth.
Horses can run shortly after birth.
Female horses are know as a mare when they're over the age of 4.
A filly is a female horse under 4 yrs old.
A broodmare is a mare used for breeding.
Male horses are know as stallions.
Male horses are know as colts when they are 1 yr and 18 months and under.
A gelding is a male horse that can not be breed.
Barrel racing is a rodeo event in which a horse and rider attempt to complete a clover-leaf pattern around present barrels in the fast time. The winning time is usually under 12 seconds. barrel racing is one of the most dangerous sports there is.
Horse jumping is one of the most popular sports in Britain with thousands of people taking up this sport every year. There are many types of jumping horses like for example there is cross pole, the triple bar, the vertical jump and the wall
Polo is a team sport played on horseback in which the objective is to score goals against an opposing team. Players score by driving a small white plastic or wooden ball into the opposing team's goal using a long-handled mallet.

Dressage is where the horse and rider are expected to perform from memory a series of predetermined movements. The rider will be relaxed and appear effort-free while the horse willingly performs the requested movement. Dressage is occasionally referred to as "Horse Ballet."
Rodeo is a competitive sport which arose out of the working practices of cattle herding in Spain, Mexico, and later the United States, Canada, South America, Australia and New Zealand. Today it is a sporting event that consists of events that involve horses and other livestock, designed to test the skill and speed of the human cowboy and cowgirl athletes who participate.
Reining is a western riding competition for horses where the riders guide the horses through a precise pattern of circles, spins, and stops. All work is done at the lope a slow, relaxed version of the horse gait more commonly known worldwide as the canter, or the gallop the fastest of the horse gaits.
Vaulting is most often described as gymnastics and dance on horseback, which can be practiced both competitively or non-competitively.
Driving is a broad term for hitching horses to a wagon, carriage, cart, sleigh, or other horse-drawn vehicle by means of a harness and working them in this way. It encompasses a wide range of activities from pleasure driving, to harness racing, to farm work, horse shows.
There are two main types of long-distance riding, competitive trail riding and endurance rides. In an endurance ride, discussed in this article, the winning horse is the first one to cross the finish line while stopping periodically to pass a veterinary check that deems the animal in good health and fit to continue. In the United States, most endurance rides are either 50 or 100 miles long.
Why Horses Are My Favorite Animal is a Horse
Personally horses are my favorite animal because they have a lot of interesting facts about and they're involved in a lot of sports. The sport I love to do the most is Barrel Racing I have a 15 yr old arabian horse that i use to take on hikes, walks, and for competition.
Miniature horses are found in many nations. Miniature horses are usually less than 34–38 inches as measured at the last hairs of the mane, which are found at the withers. While miniature horses are the size of a very small pony, many retain horse characteristics and are considered "horses" by their respective. They have various colors and coat patterns.
Lifespan: 25 – 30 yrs
Speed: 40 – 50 mph.
Mass: 450 - 500 kg on average.
Height: 147 – 163 cm.
Length: 243.84 cm on average, 144 – 166 cm.
