Wi-Fi tag? A wi-fi tag is a device that can be used for locating and tracking persons and assets.
It works with the Wi-Fi IEEE 802.11 protocol.

Each wi-fi tag is identified by a unique 48-bit MAC address.

The tag transmits its signal over IEEE 802.11b signal periodically, usually with a frequency of 2 seconds.

When a Wi-Fi tag is attached to a person or an object,
Wi-Fi Access Points under monitoring mode scan tag signals, and send each tag’s signal strength and tag MAC address to a locating server. Navizon carries two models: compact and bracelet-tag.

Compact tags have a push-button that, when pressed, sends a special signal that the server may interpret as an alert. These tags are fitted with vibration sensors that indicate when the tag is in motion.

Wristband tags are very rugged and waterproof, and have the ability to issue an alert if the wristband loop is broken.

Both tags automatically send out low-battery alerts. Compact tags may be carried by people or attached to objects, enabling their real-time locating and tracking.
Wristband tags are designed to track people, though they can also be set up to track animals.
The push-button in compact tags can be used to trigger actions when pressed. For example, for a patient to request help, an emergency room technician to summon assistance, or an operator to initiate a maintenance work order for mobile equipment that malfunctions. An initial site survey ("training") is needed to build the database of signal "fingerprints" in the area of interest. A cloud-based server estimates device locations by looking up snapshots in that database. Location data is available through an API. Navizon I.T.S. (Indoor Triangulation System) is a real-time locating system (RTLS), designed to unobtrusively locate active Wi-Fi devices throughout an area of interest (a "site"). Nodes (hardware) deployed throughout the site detect the mobile devices, and a cloud-based server estimates the devices' locations. Device location data is accessible via a REST API. Healthcare Solution Navizon Analytics lets you measure foot traffic both in near real-time and historically over time. Navizon detects Wi-Fi enabled smart phones and tablets throughout a target area, enabling unobtrusive surveillance of people traffic volume without compromising privacy.
Monitoring foot traffic in a private or public environment, both indoor and outdoor, can provide important insights about the number of and movement of people:

- How many people walk by a given location each day?
- What are the busiest hours throughout the day? Throughout the week?
- What volume of people traffic pass by a given location each day?
- What are the peak traffic hours during the day? Throughout the week?
- How does weekday traffic compare with weekend traffic?

Navizon ITS Navizon ITS is a Wi-Fi based real-time locating system, which provides accurate location and tracking of Wi-Fi devices, such as smart-phones, tablets, laptops and Wi-Fi tags, inside a building. Navizon ITS requires "nodes" (hardware parts) deployed throughout the site, in order to detect the mobile devices.
Using Wi-Fi tags you will be able to track not only people, but also assets and machinery.
This solution works in the background, quietly and unobtrusively locating Wi-Fi enabled devices. These devices are tracked within the coverage area (site) which is determined by a network of nodes.
Even though no application is needed on the devices to be tracked, using the APIs you can develop a customized app that runs on your devices and provides to users their real time location, and also "navigation" and "way-finding" to your customers.

The only requirement for devices to be tracked is that their Wi-Fi radios is turned on, which is default in most smart phones, tablets and laptops. The accuracy, depending on the deployment of the nodes, could be up to 2-3 meters. Watch our videos! How to set up and run a site Navizon ITS

Navizon Proximity Engine How it works in real life Navizon Indoors is a service which allows you to develop a mobile app giving to the users their current indoor location, even on different levels, with an accuracy of about 2-3 meters (up to 1-2 meters, depending on the density of existing Wi-Fi access points around), using a floor-plan as well.
Navizon Indoors requires the presence of enough WiFi Access Points already deployed around the area.
Custom apps may run on smart phones, tablets or custom devices: we already have our Android and iOS app, that you can use to "train" the site, and you can use it to locate yourself inside the building in real time.
This is the "basic" app, and you can develop your own app using the API and SDK of Navizon Indoors. Navizon Indoors does not need "detection hardware":
all you should do is a site survey to “train” the system beforehand, creating a database of radio signal “fingerprints” throughout the site.

Once the training is performed, you can start using your app and get your location in real time.
