Mature Philippians 3:15-16 The Mindset The Perfect Ones Dealing with Minor Disagreements The Unity of the Mature Philippians 3:15-16

15 Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you.

16 Nevertheless, whereto we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule, let us mind the same thing. vs. 15a vs. 15b vs. 16 How does the Mature mind think? Who are they? How do they think? 1 Corinthians 2:6

“Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus” Hebrews 5:11-14 It is not on essential issues God will reveal the truth 1.Give clear word on whether something is righteous or not (Mature thinking).

2.Encourage them to think rightly about non-essentials (Uninformed or Misinformed).

3.Exercise love by deferring to people who would sin by participating in something that is fine (Weaker brother).

4.Exercise love by not deferring to people who demand adherence to their standard but are not in sin with it (Legalists). Don't stray from what you know Be unified around what you do know Mature Immature Do not think they have arrived Motivated by the grace of Christ Motivated by pleasing people Certain they have arrived Driven for external conformity Seeking to know Christ with a serious pursuit Patiently and lovingly anticipating their own and others sanctification in secondary issues Convinced others need to follow their standards Studies, knows, and applies the Word to their decisions Is not teachable and is convinced of being right apart from the Word alone Finds unity in essentials Seeks to divide over non-essentials 3:2; 4-6 3:12-14 3:12 3:12 3:15-16
