Vasco Nunez De Balboa Born: 1475
Birthplace: Jerez de los Caballeros, Castile, Spain Balboa's historical impact, was the fact that he was the first Spaniard to discover the Pacific Ocean. Died: 12-Jan-1519
Location of death: Acla, Panama
Cause of death: Execution
A jealous rival falsely accused Balboa of treason to the king, and in January 1519, he was tried and sentenced to death. After he found himself on the island of Hispaniola he tried to make a living as a pig farmer.
several years later he became acting governor of Darien.
Then he led the expeditions into Panama.
sadly, Balboa was only to live a few more years, He was publicly beheaded in the town of Alca in Panama in 1519. Balboa did take multiple voyage he took 3 to

Balboa set off on his first voyage 1500 to Uraba, witch is now Columbia, and they did not have enough people to settle there. So in the same year they set of to Hispaniola and then they settled there. In 1509 he escaped from Hispaniola. Was Balboa successful? Yes Balboa was successful, but he had to keep trying to find ways to escape from where he was going. Balboa was beheaded in 1519 because of treason. What kind of events happened on Balboa's voyage?
