The main pieces of furniture in my office are my chair, my desk, and my filing cabinet. I need an ergonomic chair because I want to be comfortable throughout the day. I prefer a large desk because I can spread all the plans and ideas out for various weddings. The other main piece of furniture is the filing cabinet. I need this because I makes it easier to organize different clients paperwork and their wishes for their wedding. The calendar I bought is imporant because if I forget a date it can cost my customers a very special day. Other important pieces in my office are the fax machine, the computer and the printer. I need to be able to fax clients and stores paperwork. The computer is very important because a lot of my work is done online and having a good computer to be able to see different designs but also be able to communicate with my costumers. Lastly is my printer, I think this is important because I need to be able to print different documents and designs for my costumers. In my office although I am working and meeting with my customers. I will be meeting them at the venue of their choice therefore I will not need extra seating. My Product Choices Ten Tips For Designing Your Home Office http://www.home-decorating-made-easy.com/home-office-design.html 1. Arrange your work area in an L or U shape - this way you'll have all your important items within easy reach.
2.Consider a computer armoire - if you don't want your home office design to look like an office or if the space doubles as a guest bedroom, a computer armoire would be perfect. It will hide computer equipment, save on space, and make a beautiful furniture addition….perhaps even a focal point You'll also have extra space for a wall bed or a daybed.
3.Install the right lighting - you'll want a desk lamp so that you have adequate task lighting, and a second lamp or built-in lighting fixtures for general lighting. Use a dimmer switch for built-in lighting.
4.Purchase a comfortable chair - if you plan on spending lots of hours at your desk, make sure that you get a comfortable chair with adequate back support. Consider one that swivels if you'll be turning to retrieve papers or to answer the phone.
5.Install sufficient shelving - you'll need shelving for reference books and to display collectibles and personal items. Built-in shelving would be an excellent space-saving choice, but there are plenty of quality assemble-it-yourself options.
6.Consider modular storage pieces - they come in a variety of shapes and sizes, from stackable cubes to shelves and have optional lids, doors and drawers.
7.Obtain conduit material to neatly hide power cords and computer wiring
8.Make sure that you have enough electrical outlets and telephone jacks

10.Confirm that cords connecting your computer and its components are long enough The first tip I used is to arrange your workspace in an "L". I bought an "L" shaped desk. This gives me a lot of desk space and it easy to access everything on my desk. I also bought a desk lamp to comply with tip number three this giving me sufficient lighting while working. The next tip is number four, I bought an ergonomic chair so I would be comfortable throughout the day. Tip number five is to install shelves. I took this tip because I do think it is a good space saving way to display things. The final tip I followed is tip six and this is to have sufficient storage and I chose a shelving unit to contain many of by belongings. Overall, I used five of these ten tips to help organize and make my office functional. Tips I Used Budget Summary In total, I just made it under my five thousand dollar budget buying my necessities for my home office to make it functional for me.
