Transcript of Who Says

WHO SAYS In our opinion the main idea in this song is that you should be true to yourself and not try to change who you are. Furthermore this song expresses that it is okay to be different, because we are all different in our own way.

Our reasoning for this is because in the song it states that “You made me insecure, told me I wasn’t good enough, but who are you to judge?” This explains that she does not care about what others think. She likes the way she is, despite what others say. Also the lyrics “It’s such a funny thing, how nothing’s funny when it’s you” This means that others that make fun of you don’t realize how much it hurts until it happens to them. We believe that bullying should stop and the message to this song is fairly similar. Lastly, the line “Who says you’re not star potential, who says you’re not presidential,” has an important meaning as well. You can be anything you want to be, which ties in to the poem we have chosen titled; “You Can Be Who You Want to be,” by Donna Levine.
