How Hockey Canada manage to find funds & support for new events?
Sponsorship, merchandising, donations and licensing, having the teams on Tv.
Organizing International major events is a powerful way to find partners.
In 1994 Hockey Canada and the Canadian Amateur Hockey Association merged to bring all aspect of games under one umbrella organization, the newly formed Canadian Hockey Association was responsible for youth hockey programs as well as Canada's national teams for World Championships and Olympic tournaments.
The name was later changed to Hockey Canada in 2003 for operational purposes (You know...canadians!)

Event Hosting can be operationally, financially and even politically challenging.
Over the past decade Hockey Canada had developed a highly effective model for hosting world championships of every age type. Because the championships are held in different cities it helps sharing the benefits of these major events. It s a pretty nice situation especially from my french vision.( all big matches are held in Paris)
The model was built upon having good finances, having a shared profit, also benefits are split between Hockey Canada, the Canadian Hockey League and its teams, the key point is to frequently host challenges and for that the best is to create them like Hockey Canada did.
Sponsorship, Marketing development.
Manage and increase the ability of selling tickets and seats.
National Interest always growing.
Because of all this motivation creating sharing and hosting challenges, canadians are really liking the sport and especially when their teams are winning, it gives 'em a good reason to get drunk for national support.
No for real, the shows are now watched by three quarter of the Canadian people rather on Tv or in the arena. Canadians love to see their colors winning like in 2010 when the country captured the gold medal.
