The Assembly
The Assembly took place every 8-10 days and was the regular opportunity for all male citizens of Athens to speak their minds and exercise their votes regarding the government of their city. Men would go to the Assembly if they wanted something changed. It was a place of free speech. Any Athenian man was allowed to go. The Assembly was important because people were allowed to speak their mind. They had a chance to be heard and share their opinion.
