American Revolution
The American Revolution was a time period where America was fighting for its independence. They were fighting against Britain who controlled them at this time.

Benjamin Franklin
Benjamin Franklin was a man who had many jobs and many different roles in society. He was an inventor, scientist, writer, philosopher, and many others. He also helped draft the Declaration with a committee.

Continental Army
This army was created to defend America from Britain in 1775.

Declaration of Independence
This document was freeing America from Britain after all the hard times and battles we had against them.

England
England controls Britain. For the long period of the Revolutionary War we were fighting against Britain.

First Continental Congress
The First Continental Congress was when many colonial leaders met to talk about the issues that we had in our nation.

George Washington
He led the American army to many victories. Also was the first president of the United States of America.

Patrick Henry was apart of the First Continental Congress who did not believe in fighting and in wars.

America gained its independence from Great Britain in 1776.

The Battle of Yorktown was the last major battle in the war. This is when Britain finally surrender.
Peter Zenger was a very bright man and came up with the idea of freedom of the press.
