Standardized Curriculum How does it stand? Can it work? The US Department of education released a controversial report entitled A Nation at Risk, which informed us that our students are not meeting the expectations to enter into the work field. YES NO State curriculum helps to reduce tax dollars
Helps to unify what is learned
Sets a "standard" to what is expected to be learned
No matter where the institution is located, every student receives the same quality education. Takes away from individualized teaching
Minimizes the flexibility needed to help those who may be struggling

Making sure that you child is learning the same thing others are learning nationwide?
Making sure your child will gain as much as they can? What about the teachers? Should teachers have control over what is taught?
Does standardized learning create jobs that anyone can teach
Would it allow for home schooled students to be intergrated into the classroom easier? Depending on how you answered these questions will determine if you agree with standardized curriculum. I believe in what is best for the individual child and as an educator I would find it hard to instruct a lesson based off what someone else tells me if I ma not able to add my personal experiences and creativity to make it an engaging and fulfilling lesson. I vote no on standardized learning! My POV
