ITRT PORTFOLIO
2012 - 2013 Karen Clore
SAES My goal as ITRT at Salem Elementary School is to promote and facilitate student learning and engagement through the appropriate integration of technology and to support SAES as a Professional Learning Community. Salem Elementary School is dedicated to equipping 21st century learners and providing a safe and supportive academic environment, which promotes academic, emotional and social growth within our very diverse and transient community. Technology Goals
Increase use of effective instructional technology integration to positively effect academic achievement of all K-5 students.
Increase teacher awareness and competence of available technologies.
Promote educational practices consistent with Universal Design for Learning to better meet the needs of all students, including students with disabilities and our minority students. I have observed that teachers are becoming much more self-sufficient at using the available technology and with assisting each other.
Teachers are using ExamView Assessments in SCORE and with clickers to collect data that drives instruction, especially for remediation and enrichment.
I have observed many ESOL and LD students using Read & Write 10 independently and teachers seem pleased. Technology Goals

SAES Curriculum Support  Providing Resources for Instruction, Practice, and Review 60 hr. 45 min. Providing Resources for Instruction, Practice, and Review
(Cont.) I spent a great deal of time gathering and organizing digital resources for each grade level on the J Drive. I spent one planning period with each grade level going over what was in their resources folder. I showed them how to drag the butterfly shortcut onto their desktops for easy access. Providing Resources for Instruction, Practice, and Review (Cont.) Providing Resources for Instruction, Practice, and Review (Cont.) I put ExamView Assessments in CPS Response System and SMART Response Clickers for each grade level. I also put in their rosters. Providing Resources for Instruction, Practice, and Review (Cont.) As I have found in all my other schools the first year in a school is a trust-building year. I have established many great working relationships with educators and staff at SAES. I was able to work with all classroom teachers and most resource teachers in some capacity. I was especially pleased to collaborate with our new math specialist.
The Title 1 SMART Table (K-1) and iPad (K-2) Initiatives were successfully launched for daily use as Literacy and Math Stations. IPads are used daily in every K-2 classroom.
One thing that I was most pleased to contribute to was the second grade team PLC. These team members were true “STARS” at using me as a resource and allowing me to partner with them to utilize technology to enhance their PLC experience. It has been a real joy to see them quickly learn new tools and implement instructional technology to drive instruction and engage learners.
