Rock and Roll Origins
Rock and Roll started around 1950's. At the time it was a mix of black and white music but it was in the 60's when it really became popular.

How long did it take this idea or item to spread?

Rock and roll evolved in the early 1950s and quickly spread to the rest of the world between the 1950s and 1960s. It spread quickly thanks to the new development in technology, for example records began to change with the development of new technology.

By what means did it spread?

Rock and Roll spread through new technology. During this period of time, the "transistor radio"was invented and became popular. Car radios were also becoming more popular, and more people were listening to the radio while driving. Also during this time period Radio stations began to program their music to fit the demographics of a new audience.Televison also helped the diffusion of Rock & roll.

Many religous groups believed that the genre Rock and Roll was formed by satanist and its a sin to listen to that form of music

Rock and Roll has altered quite often throughout its diffusion. From hippies to head bangers and everything in between. The artists Elvis Presley, Led Zeppelin, Journey, and Nirvana are all excellent examples of the evolution throughout Rock.
