The main function of the pharynx is that it is a passageway of air and food.The pharynx as well receives the food in the digestive system after it has been swallowed.
The function of the esophagus is to carry food and liquid from the throat to the stomach for digestion.
The stomach is the main food storage tank of the body.The stomach also secretes a mixture of acid and enzymes that helps to digest
The function of the small intestine breakdown food and absorves nutrients.
Large intestine does re absorption of water and mineral ions such as sodium and chloride
The main function of the salivary glands is to manufacture saliva and help the food go down the esophagus easily.
The main function of the mouth is to brake down food into small pieces.
The functions of the liver are storing glycogen which is made from sugars, helping to process fats and proteins from digested food.
Completes the job of breaking down protein, carbohydrates, and fats using digestive juices of pancreas combined with juices from the intestines.
My weekly plan for the digestive system is to drink a lot of water. About 1 litter a day. Another thing I can do is not eat spices like chilies all week.
The gall bladder stores and concentrates bile from the liver.
Appendix serves a function as part of the immune system.
