Conflict
The main conflict in Fangirl is when her professer wanting her to write her own story and make her own world as opposed to using other's. Throughout the story Cath struggles to start writing the essay. Also, throughout the book Cath and Wren's relationship becomes strained, and they stop talking and meeting up regularly.

Cath and Levi also have to get over misunderstandings to progress in their relationship.
Figurative Language
Theme
I think the theme of the book is learning to accept yourself because Cath struggles in the book because she thinks she's not good enough. She always compares herself to Wren or Reagan, saying their prettier or more sociable.

Another theme is discovering new things and stepping outside your comfort zone. She is socially inept but became good friends with Reagan and fell in love with Levi.
