Goals 3. We are learning about... self and peer assessment and how to implement this into our everyday teaching. Assessment for Learning Guiding Questions: Where are they in their learning. Where am I now? Where am I trying to go? 1. 2. 3. are prepared in combination with your Curriculum Document(s) @teachingboys ASSESSMENT... serves different purposes at different times: used to help students improve learning, or how much they have learned must be planned, purposeful and accurate & must be aligned with the curriculum, instruction, grading & reporting must be balanced, oral, performance, written & flexible ...and instruction are inseparable.
Effective assessment informs learning informs students in words about that they have done well, not numerical scores or letter grades is collaborative and most effective when it involves self, peer and teacher assessment. It helps students to take ownership of their learning Descriptive Feedback: Feedback provides information to students & teachers about learning. helps to reduce the gap between the student's current level of understanding and/or performance & a desired goal. have powerful positive effects on student learning and engagement. Individual Learning Goals Today's Focus: Research: "Self assessment by pupils, is in fact an essential component of formative assessment.
