Anatomy Of A snakes Mouth
-These toxins in the venom affect the nervous system and cause paralysis of the muscles and limbs. The venoms of many snakes have this effect, which may take several hours to become apparent.

-These toxins break down muscles by digesting them. This means that proteins leak into the kidneys, causing kidney failure, and brown coloured urine. The potassium that is released from the muscle can lead to heart failure.
-Some toxins eat away tissues and blood cells. They can cause blood clots, leading to heart failure or they can prevent the blood from clotting so the patient suffers severe bleeding or haemhorraging at the wound site.

These toxins cause the death of skin cells and living tissues at the bite site.
This causes severe pain, local inflammation and scarring of the skin
Types of toxins
Antivenom (or antivenin or antivenene) is a biological product used in the treatment of venomous bites. Antivenom is created by milking venom from the desired snake.
The venom is then diluted and injected into an animal.
The subject animal will undergo an immune response to the venom, producing antibodies against the venom's active molecule which can then be harvested from the animal's blood and used to treat envenomation.
