You use
venir
to say that someone is coming to a place or an event. When conjugating the verb
venir
, you must drop the
ir
in order for it to go along with each form.
The verb
Preferir
is a
stem-changing verb
. The -e- of the stem changes to -ie- in all forms except for nosotros and vosotros. You must use the infinitive for any verb that follows
preferir
.

Use the verb
jugar
to talk about playing a sport or game.
Jugar uses the same ending as the other -ar verbs, but it has a different stem in some forms. For those forms, the -u- becomes -ue-.
Venir is a stem-changing verb. Therefore when you conjugate the verb, the -e- of the stem changes to -ie- in each of the forms, not including nosotros and vosotros.
