a revelation about our lives.
Let's look at the subject "government corruption and control" in "The Hunger Games".

Stories can have MORE THAN ONE theme!
Some themes for "The Hunger Games" could be:
BE CAREFUL!!! Don't get too specific with your themes.
"Dwarfs are helpful" is too specific to the "Snow White" story.
Subjects are one or two words
(what is the story about?)
Theme is not subject!
Subjects are what the author has chosen to write about.
For example, the subject of "The Hunger Games" is
government control and corruption

Theme is not plot either.
Plot is the series of events within a story.
