Healthy Well Being
How can I create and maintain a healthy well being?

There are plenty of steps one can take to ensure a healthy well being. By focusing your efforts on the following categories, you'll be off to a good start!

Stress Management
Proper Nutrition
Staying Active
Good Hygiene
Personal Hygiene
what about it?
Hygiene is a set of practices performed for the preservation of health.
Personal hygiene involves properly caring for your body by keeping it clean and healthy while allowing you to look and feel your best.
Riddle Time!!!

We don't take showers
but we're as clean as can be.
What do we do to take the
smell away?
Answer: WE TAKE BATHS
Personal Hygiene: Taking Care of Your Body
Smelling Clean
Wearing Clean Clothes
Using "Smell Nice" Products
Washing and Brushing your Hair
Brushing your Teeth (And those regular dentist appointments!)
Have you ever walked into a classroom full of kids when all the windows are closed?
According to the experts young kids may sweat but they don't start having body odour (BO) until they reach puberty. That's when special sweat glands under the arms roar into full production pouring out sweat which smells!
: Clothes can get stained, dirty and generally grubby, or can even carry sweat smell , so you need to change them often.

are right next to your skin and collect dead skin cells, sweat and possibly other unmentionable stains. Overnight bacteria start to work on these stains so your clothes do not smell as nice on the second day of wearing.
take it off as soon as you get home and hang it up to air before you wear it the next day.
Remember:
Nothing smells better than clean skin. Perfumes are
NOT
a good substitute for a shower or a wash. It doesn't hide the smell.
Using "Smell Nice" Products. Can you think of any?

All about the hair!

The hair follicles [which the hair grows from] produce
oil
which keeps the hair smooth. You also have
sweat glands
in your scalp, and
dead skin cells
come off the scalp. The
oil
,
sweat
and
dead cells
all add together and can make hair
greasy
and look
dirty
unless you wash it regularly.
Brush your teeth to get those pearly whites!
You should brush and floss your teeth twice a day, once after breakfast and right before bed!

What is stress?

A state of mental or emotional strain or tension resulting from adverse or very demanding circumstances.
what causes stress?

Being bullied, or exposed to violence or injury.
Relationship stress, Family conflicts, the emotions that come with a broken heart or the death of a loved one.
Ongoing school work issues
Crammed schedules
Not having enough time!
Time for a TIME activity!
1. Write the amount of hours you spend a week on the following activities:
Sleeping
Eating
School
Homework
Studying
Commute
Work
Now do the math...
Add up the total amount of hours spent on those activities.
There are
168 hours
in a week, BY THE WAY.
Minus the amount of hours you've calculated from 168.
That's how much time you have for free time.
Staying Active
What's your definition of being active?
Physical Fitness is important because it keeps the body free from illnesses.
But it doesn't stop there!
Exercise boosts your energy levels, making you feel amazing after a work out!

minutes of physical activity
PER DAY!

8
to no more than

What is nutrition?
A sIMPLE WAY TO REDUCE THE STRESS IN OUR LIVES ...
Learn to manage your time!
As a teenager, it can sometimes be hard to live a healthy lifestyle when there are so many temptations and negative influences in your life. You may feel more inclined to choosing the easier options such as a fast food meal over a home-made salad, or staying home on the computer over getting out and playing a sport. While these are perfectly fine in moderation, it's important to realize that getting out there and being active will make you feel wonderful!
A good Well-being in the early teen years is built on good mental health, plenty of physical activity, lots of sleep, nutritious food and positive relationships with family and friends.
