2013
Are we ready for the Future?

let's revolutionize learning-teaching process
1E-School
Question:
What can we change in our way of teaching and learning?
that's to say:
Classroom geography
Change can be seen by simply
entering
the new classroom, which is
completely reorganized
no more rows of desks,
no more teacher's desk!

A wave of desks
Traditional school desks are replaced by
WAVE desks
, built so as to favour any change or composition of the space suitable for
group works
or
laboratories
No more teacher's desk!
It has been replaced by a
movable chair
doted with device and underseat racks, suitable to
move
quickly in the classroom to assist group works
EDUCATIONAL
TURNING POINT
Homework
is mainly in the form of exercises and elaborations on the podcasts, but it can also be the result of individual research
Key word
But... where's the revolution?
LABORATORY
! We

discuss
about problems or doubts

and students work, singularly or in

groups
, on those topics, eliminating

doubts
and progressively

deepening

their learning.
IF THE TEACHER DOESN'T EXPLAIN, WHAT DOES THE CLASS DO WHEN AT SCHOOL?
What about homework?
Written tests
are effected roughly
EVERY THREE MONTHS
in each subject, as stated in the schedule planned and handed to students at the beginning of the school year.

Each session lasts 15 days.

During sessions, morning classes focus on activities meant to
practice for tests
An hour a week
is dedicated to:

multidisciplinary projects
training for various competitions
IT packets
training for (language) certifications
and the like...

Every activity ends with the realization of a multimedia product
Work in progress
Facebook: afternoon group discussions
Blog gathering students’ and teachers’ observations
Class web TV
Videoconferences with US schools
Foreign language appreciation
Focused training and school trips
Use of project and design software
And much more….
"The principal goal of education in the schools should be creating men and women who are capable of
doing new things
,
not simply repeating
what other generations have done."
- Jean Piaget
CHANGE
Digital schoolbooks
No more paper schoolbooks in the rucksack but just a
notebook
which contains them all, in digital version.
Exercise-books
are allowed!!
In the classroom there is a small "
class library"
for the paper versions of the schoolbooks and other books chosen by teachers or students
What about paper books?
Classroom network
Acer Classroom Manager

has allowed us to create a
classroom network
thanks to which the teacher manages the
students'

web connection
and remotely controls the
students' desktops
Blackboard vs IWB
I
nteractive
W
hite
B
oard instead of traditional blackboard
Stop!
certainly not in the choice of new desks or in the use of notebook during classes....
elimination of
TRADITIONAL LECTURING METHOD

replaced by
PODCASTS
EDUCATIONAL
TURNING POINT
Students previously listen to teachers' lessons at home through
podcasts
about basic concepts shared on the
class

facebook page
All this, obviously, under
the
guidance
and

supervision
of the teacher.
What about oral and written tests?
Assessment
is continuous, thanks to students’ work
observation
, to their
involvement
and
initiative
during workshop and to their
interest
and
participation
.
While
oral tests
vary according to both the subject and the teacher.
HOW CAN STUDENTS
MAKE UP
FOR FAILED SESSIONS?
during
the month following
the failed session,
those who need
to make up for bad test results have to do additional activities to practice.
The
make up session
takes place
in the afternoon
, within the end of the month following the failed session.
