Syria
Syria's Civil War
Ever since 2011, a devastating civil war has been raging. Thousands of people have been killed, and some are just everyday Syrian civilians.
Government & Religion
Economy
Ever since the civil war began, Syria's economy has been ruined. Its economy is ranked fourth lowest among the countries in the Middle East. The government does not control some major cities because of rebels and ISIS.
The Syrian Landscape
Syria's geography is quite diverse. It has a large mountain range, called Jabal an Nusayriyah, a large area known as the Eastern Plateau Region, and a Coastal Plain, like the one we have here in our own country.
Syria
By Madison Herman
The war started when anti-government protests broke out in Syria. The conflict grew more intense, until rebels started attacking Syrian cities.
Thanks for Watching!
In My Opinion
Syria is a small country in the Middle East. It has many interesting things happening there. From an amazing landscape to a devastating civil war, Syria is a very intriguing country to learn about.
The official government of Syria is the Syrian Arab Republic. The current president is Bashar al-Assad The largest religion group is the Sunni Muslims, who make up 74% of the Syrian population.
