A closer look at Mrs. Taylor
Transcript of A closer look at Mrs. Taylor
What do I do for fun?
I graduated from Mt. Rainier High School in 2002
I graduated from BYU in 2008, earning my degree in Elementary Education
When I was in college, I went to a friend's house to hang out. He suggested we should go skateboarding. I'd never been on a skateboard, but I thought it would be fun to try. My mistake. Wearing a skirt and no shoes, I got on the skateboard and started rolling down a big hill. As I gained speed, the board started to wobble, and not knowing what to do, I put my back, bare foot down on the road. The back foot caught on the pavement but my front foot stayed on the board, causing me to do the splits and skid to a stop. When I got up, my right knee was seriously bloody because that had been my brake to stop. I haven't attempted to skateboard since, and I still have a scar.
When I was 13, I qualified for a 13-state championship swim meet called Zones. I swam the 100-meter butterfly and won 1st place out of all 13 states. I remember I barely won because I stretched my arms super hard to reach the wall before the girl next to me. I only beat her by 1/10 of a second!
