Understanding People By Nadia Giorgi Here are some of Maxwell's thoughts on how to understand people Understanding people? John C Maxwell “Knowing what people need and want is the key to understanding them. And if you can understand them, you can influence them in a positive way.” Dr. John Maxwell Maxwell says that understanding people is one of the most important things! He says you must listen with your heart not just your head.
Maxwell wrote "The wise man, Solomon, talked about many different kinds of people – the responsible, the fools, the reverent, the mockers, the team players, the rebels, the motivated and the lazy" He said that Solomon was only wise because he could understand and relate to people. Are you an understanding person?
You will try to see things from another’s point of view.
You will recognize and respect everyone’s unique qualities.
You will realize that people have a lot in common and reinforce that to create a team atmosphere.
You will have a forgiving attitude because you will understand why people do what they do.This understanding will enable you to more easily forgive their mistakes or indiscretions. Thank you for watching! :) What is wrong with Maxwell's use of scripture?? In his writings about attitude, understanding people ect he dosn't mention God, sin, the bible, or the cross ever! even though the bible has lots of good pointers on how to understand people Maxwell decides to ignore them. 1 John 4v7-8 says "Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. He who does not love does not know God, for God is love." The bible tells us that God is love and so we need God's love to love other people but Maxwell never says anything like this. What else does the bible say? “The heart is deceitful above all things,
And desperately wicked;
Who can know it?" Jeremiah 17v9
The heart is deceitful but Maxwell decides to ignore this and tell us everything is okay if we just be nice to each other. God the creater of the WHOLE universe sent his only son to die for us because of what is inside our hearts so how can Maxwell ignore that?!
