-In german's history they have had two world wars.
-During the first world war they had the central powers's help.

The Berlin Wall was a barrier from the year 1961 to 1989. Constructed by the German Deocratic Republic, starting on August 13th, 1961. It completly cuts off West Berlin from surrounding East Germany.
