The Human Development Index
The Human Development Index is a set of living conditions such as literacy rate, death rate and life expectancy and this shows how life is like in certain country. In the Human Development Index, the countries are ranked. My country Japan is ranked 12th out of all the countries in the world. This country's rank is after Hong Kong and before Switzerland. The rating for Japan is 0.901. Japan has a very high Human Development rank. Since Japan has a very high Human Development rank, it means that Japan is a good country to live in.
Japanese People and Society
The country Japan has a high life expectancy and it is 3rd in the world for that statistic. For males, the life expectancy is 80.57 years and for females it is 87.43 years. The fertility rate of babies born in a woman's life is 1.39. Also, the birth rate per 1000 of population is 8.39 births. The death rate is 9.15 per 1000 of population. For Infant Mortality Rate, the rate is 2.21 deaths per 1000 live births. Japan has low numbers in these statistics(not life expectancy).
Population
The population for my country Japan is 127,368,088. Japan has a dense population. The density of Japan's population is 331 people per kilometer squared. The school life expectancy for the Japanese is 15 years. The age group that has the most population is from ages 35-39 and 100+ has the least population. The percentage of Japan's population that could read and write is 99%.
The Population Pyramid for Japan for the Year 2050
In the future, demographers predict that Japan will have a population decline. Demographers say this is because if the fertility rate is below 2.07, then population starts to decline. A few solutions that people found to this problem is to make women have more children. They could do this by shortening the hours for the women. Another way could be to shorten the burden for women. Demographers predict by the year 2050, that the population of Japan will be 107 million and most of their population will come from the age groups 70-74 and 75-79. This means that Japan will have a high population mostly coming from their seniors. Also, it is predicted that there won't be that much children in 2050.
Japan's Economy(First Paragraph)
Japan's economy is the third biggest national economy in the world. The GDP(Gross Domestic Product) per capita of Japan is 34,700. The GDP composition sector, agriculture is 1.2%. Another sector is industries and the GDP composition for this sector is 27.3%. The last sector is services and it's GDP composition is 71.6%. The labor force by population is 65.91 million.
Is Japan Developed or Developing?
The country Japan is located in Asia. This country is a developed country. Japan is a developed country because it has a good economy and high GDP. Also, Japan's population characteristics prove that Japan is a developed country. Japan's GDP is 4.444 trillion and the GDP per capita is 34,700. Japan is very rich and it is fourth in the world for the most GDP. Japan spends 71.6 of it's GDP composition on services and mostly developed countries spend a lot of money on services. Also, Japan has a high life expectancy at 80, low birth rate at 8.39 and death rate at 9.15. Japan also has a low fertility at 1.39. Japan is ranked 12th in the world in the Human Development Index as a good country to live in. Japan's stats are what developed countries mostly have and overall, therefore Japan is a developed country.
Japan's Economy
After World War II, Japan needed help and it got government-industry cooperation. Also, another disaster occured in the March of 2011. A 9.0 earthquake struck Japan and the costs of the damage that was caused was from 235 billion-300 billion and the GDP of Japan decreased 0.5% in 2011. Currently, Japan's economy is the third largest national economy in the world. The GDP of Japan is 4.444 trillion in US.The GDP(Gross Domestic Product) per capita of Japan is 34,700. The GDP composition by sector is divided into three sectors. They are agriculture, industry and services. The services sector has the most GDP composition since it has 71.6% of the GDP composition. Another sector is industry and this sector has 27.3% of the GDP composition. The sector with the least GDP composition is agriculture with 1.2%.The labour by population in Japan is 65.91 million.
Introduction to Japan
Japan is a country located in Asia. Japan is a small country in relation to big countries like Canada, U.S.A and Russia but it is very good country to reside in.
The country Japan is located on the west side of Asia. Japan is on the west of the countries North Korea, South Korea and China. These countries are close to Japan. Also Taiwan is another country close to Japan and Japan is on the northwest of Taiwan. Japan lies on the Pacific Ocean.

Country Comparison
The country that I am going to compare with is Afghanistan As we know, Japan is a developed country. Afghanistan is a developing country. In my population characteristics, Afghanistan has most of the high population characteristics. The fertility rate of Afghanistan women is 6.29 compared to 1.39 kids for a woman in Japan. In Afghanistan the birth rate per 1000 is 39.3 which is very high and Japan has a low birth rate at 8.39 births per 1000. The life expectancy at birth for the babies is 48.3 years in Afghanistan and this very low since Japan has a life expectancy of 80. Also, the death rate is 14.59 per 1000 in Afghanistan and in Japan, it is 9.15. The infant mortality rate is 121.63 deaths per 1000 live births which is really high and Japan has it at 2.21 deaths per 1000 live births. The literacy rate of how many people could read and write in Afghanistan is 30% for males and 42% for males and 18% for females and average for both males and females is 29% and this means that Afghanistan people are not that well educated and the average years that both males and females are educated is 7 years. The statistics that Afghanistan has are very high except for life expectancy and literacy rate but all the stats that Afghanistan has, it shows that is a developing country. Japan has a better economy than Afghanistan and they are are more rich than them.
We Are All In It Together
Looking at Japan and Afghanistan, it could be told that Afghanistan needs help because it has a very high death rate and infant mortality rate. This means that a lot of people die in Afghanistan each year. Also, Afghanistan has a low GDP and is a poor country. Japan has a high GDP and it is a developed country. In a year, the average family in Afghanistan makes 1,000 dollars and people in Japan make 34,700 in a year. In my opinion, one way to help Afghanistan is to give them a lot of money. By doing this, Afghanistan could have better health care and most of their population could be well educated. Also Japan could help by start trading with them. What Afghanistan could be doing by itself to becoming developed is to have better healthcare, stop poverty and stop selling guns.
