State procedures & expectations every-time, yes every-time and don't forget to reintroduce yourself and talk about what you do!

You could just feed them to keep their mouths quiet :) really
Just go with it! At 1 x a 6-weeks whats wrong with having some fun talking about friends, goals, and choices.
They get crazy in Guidance!
Pre K-1st grade 30 minutes
2nd -4th 45 minutes
* and yes, I let the teachers leave

Counselors you must learn your student system! Run reports on your own, saves time helps keep you self sufficient.

SET REMINDERS OF APPTS, AND EVEN REMINDERS OF THINGS THAT MUST GET DONE!
ITS A GREAT TOOL TO DOCUMENT YOUR TIME SPENT!!!

Start clubs/fun groups- sign up for the fun stuff!
Groups and Individual Meetings
Start groups after At-Risk
see handouts on group organizing ~ or make a google form
Uh-oh " Why does my kid need Counseling?" and other questions
4-6 sessions in a 6 weeks. get permission
Squeeze 'em in at lunch, music, library, art, whenever you can
Meetings/ groups are not set on a contingency basis
Morning groups - Better than coffee
