Digital Citizenship Character Development in a Digital World What is
Digital Citizenship? According to ISTE's NETS,
Digital Citizenship is the
safe, legal and responsible

index2.html In the spring of 2008, over 200 individuals - superintendents,
trustees, teachers, parents and students - contributed to the
process of defining the 8 character attributes on this poster. The Digital Citizenship poster, designed in the spring of 2009,
illustrates how these 8 character attributes relate closely to
our participation in the Digital World. In the WRDSB,
we define Digital Citizenship as Our journey to the Digital Citizenship definition
began with the Character Development poster
and the definitions of the 8 Character Attributes. Why is it important
to talk to our students
about Digital Citizenship? Kids are spending a LOT of time online! We need to give our students a tool
to help them navigate the web safely and effectively. The Digital Compass is an excellent tool. Use the Digital Compass
to discuss your feelings
about the following scenarios. There are many websites
with excellent activities to
reinforce the concepts of digital citizenship ... Earn a 'Technology Driver's License
at PBS kids.. The internet has changed,
and so has the way our kids use it.
