Bill Gates Chairman of Microsoft World Famous Entrepreneur What is an entrepreneur? a person who organizes and manages any enterprise, especially a business, usually with considerable initiative and risk
a person who organizes and operates a business or businesses, taking on financial risk to do so Why did I choose Bill Gates? I used to wonder who came up with the invention of the computer. I use it on a daily basis, and sometimes it still amazes me with the things it can do. Microsoft has been my operating system for a long time now, and although I have troubles with it, I am quite thankful towards Bill Gates for making it. The reason I chose Bill Gates for this project is because he is someone who has extraordinary achievements. I am a person who always aims for extreme success, and that is my ultimate goal in life. Although I will not pursue a career in the field that Bill Gates has, his success and achievements will always be something I will look up to and try to make happen in my own life. Bill Gates created the operating system, Microsoft. Microsoft, the company, was created by Bill Gates in 1975 along with his childhood friend, Paul Allen. The two began their company on the idea that personal software would be useful for home computers. Origins born William Henry Gates the third on October 28, 19 55

successfully entered Harvard university in 1973
dropped out in 1975 to focus completely on Microsoft, as a company had two sisters
his mother was a schoolteacher, University of Washington regent and chairman of United Way International
he grew up in a upper-middle class family
his father was a lawyer
attended private school as a child Personal Qualities risk taker - Bill Gates took risks in his business endeavors which is one of the most important characteristics of being an entrepreneur
curious - he spent many hours looking through reference books and encyclopedias when he was young
persistent - he stuck with his interest in computers from the age of thirteen until now
hardworking - he gave up his schooling in order to build his company
philanthropist - Bill Gates does not express greed over the money he has. He likes to donate money to good causes, such as global health and learning. He is a well known philanthropist.
