Transcript of Pro-Choice Abortion

Pro-choice abortion was never
officially "legalized" in the USA
until January 22, 1973. If abortion is made illegal, some women will still try to obtain abortions illegally, and many are likely to end up at back-alley butchers or attempt to perform abortions on themselves and suffer serious injury. Opposition to abortion is based on religious beliefs. A fundamental principle of American democracy is that no one can impose their religious beliefs on others. Therefore, there should not be any laws against abortion There are approximately
42 billion abortions yearly,
worldwide. The total number of
abortions per day is
115,000. People have many different ideas and theories about when human life begins. Laws against abortion are an attempt to impose one particular theory, the theory that life begins at conception. But what about people who believe other ideas? Why should they be forced to forced to abide by this one theory The question is not whether abortion is right or wrong, but, Who decides? The individual woman, or the government? If you're opposed to abortion, don't have one, but don't try to impose your morality on others. Abortion is a personal choice between a woman and her doctor No one has a right to oppose abortion unless they are prepared to provide pre-natal care and other forms of support needed by woman with unwanted pregancies, including providing homes for pregnant teens who are thrown out by their parents Doctors, not governments, should always be the people to make medical recommendations and opinions Belief and support from the feminist activists was the beginning of the pro-choice legal movement. Pro choice feminists state that good reasons for abortion are based on the idea that a woman is better off to have control of her own reproductive rights. What about girls who are victims of incest? How can you force such a girl to go through the ordeal of carrying such a pregnancy to term? People wonder how the Old Testament population could conform to the evil society in which they lived, by sacrificing their children to heathen idols. Control over her body and the freedom to decide the course of her life is critical to a woman's civil rights. When a woman is pregnant it is her body that goes through all the stress of pregnancy . If she decides not to have a pregnancy she should be able to do so. Denying her the right to her body id violating her most basic freedom. Women have control over thier bodies and the freedom to decide if an abortion is right or not. All women go through alot of stress when they are pregnant, if they do not wish and can't go thought it then they should have the right to get an abortion.
