Childhood Childhood The Life of Mary Shelley Prezi by Bridget Frouge and Monica Pham ...The woman that created Frankenstein 1797-1813 Mary was born in Somers Town, Great Britain August 1797 1807 Mary publishes her first poem at age of ten. 1814 When Mary is sixteen, she meets Percy Bysshe Shelley. 1814 - 1816 Despite Mary’s father forbidding her to see Percy anymore, he and Mary eloped to France. On January 24th, William is born 1816 1814 In June, Byron suggests the Mary should write a ghost story. With that suggestion in mind, Mary begins to write Frankenstein. In April, the three travel to Geneva and meets Byron, the man her step-sister is having an affair with. News reaches Percy that his wife had committed suicide. Her pregnant body was found in the Serpentine river on December 10th. On December 30th, Mary and Percy marry at St. Mildred's church in London. Afterword Afterword 1817 1823 1822 1819 Mary completes Frankenstein on May 14th. It gets published a year later. 1817-1851 Mary meets Lord Byron in April. In June, Byron suggests to Mary to write a ghost story for her next project. Percy's wife commits suicide on December 10th Adolescence William Shelley dies on June 7th. After William dies, she writes her second novel, Mathilde. Percy drowns Mary has a miscarriage on June 16th. Mary returns to England with her only surviving son, Percy Florence Shelley February 29th, Mary writes Valperga, a romantic novel set in the 14th-century 1826 Mary writes her final story, The Last Man. ...........
