Transcript of Akram Azimi
Akram Azimi was born in Kabul in 1987. He is a young Indigenous mentor. Arriving in Perth in 1999 at the age of 5 years old from Afghanistan, he was a refugee. He was a high school student and the school's Head boy. He uses his leadership to help young people in Western Australia. For three years, Akram Azimi helped young Indigenous people with disabilities and that are poor in the Looma community in the Kimberly region.
Akram Azimi's contribution to the community
Akram Azimi uses his leadership skills to help the people in Western Australia who are less fortunate. He once had a dream to help the disadvantaged Indigenous communities in Western Australia. He used to be a teacher in a primary school. For three years he mentored young indigenous people in the Kimberly region. In 2011, he worked with the True Blue Dreaming society who helps people all over the world. Some activities that they had with the Looma community was camping in Broome, they had a fundraiser foundation and wyalkatchem activities. He is also the co founder of the True Blue society.

Akram Azimi was born in the middle of the civil war in Afghanistan in Kabul. Kabul is the capital city of Afghanistan. His parents were also born in Afghanistan. Therefore he is Afghan.

What motivated Akram Azimi?
Vice-chancellor, professor Paul Johnson and the university that Akram Azimi went to school at, believed that they can make a positive change to the world. They encouraged all students including Akram Azimi to use their skills and knowledge to make a good difference lives of others weather it is locally or internationally. After that, Akram Azimi joined the True Blue dreaming society for 5 years.

Akram Azimi helped young Indigenous people in the Looma community for three years and he was part of the True Blue Dreaming society which helps people in need.
The reason why he helped people in Western Australia was because he got inspired by Professor Paul Johnson and how he can make a positive differences to the world. He believed that everyone is equal and the same.
