Anti-Hero Jack Sparrow
Transcript of Anti-Hero Jack Sparrow
Jack sparrow is a selfish pirate and captain of the black pearl. in this movie, he is trying to find the heart of Davy Jones, who is an evil sea monster, so that Jones cant control the sea.
he is often drinking rum and walking around the ship.
As Jack´s ship is being attacked by Davy Jones´s ship, he abandons the ship. As he´s watching the fight he has to decide whether to go back or to keep rowing away. he chooses to come back.
When the tribe of cannibals are trying to eat him, he runs away and is trying to save himself when others need help too.
Sparrow makes a deal with Davy Jones, the cruel captain of the Flying Dutchman, that instead of serving one hundred years himself aboard the Flying Dutchman, he offers to deliver one hundred souls to come aboard the ship. This includes a man named will, who has helped Jack plenty of times before.
"Why is the rum always gone?"
Forced to choose between right and wrong
Elizabeth: ¨There will come a moment when you have the chance to do the right thing.¨
Jack: ¨I love those moments. I like to wave at them as they pass by.¨
Not Morally Perfect and does make bad/immoral decisions
Can be motivated by self-interests and self-preservation, but there is usually a line anti-heroes won't cross
Jack does not kill anyone out of pure coldness.

An antihero or anti heroine is a protagonist who lacks conventional heroic qualities such as idealism, courage, and morality. These individuals often possess dark personality traits such as disagreeableness, dishonesty, and aggressiveness. These characters are usually considered "conspicuously contrary to an archetypal hero".
