Intentional Living: Clarity
Transcript of Intentional Living: Clarity
"Then He opened their minds so they could understand the Scriptures. He told them, "This is what is written: The Christ will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day, and repentance and forgiveness will be preached in His name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. You are witnesses of these things. I am going to send you what my Father has promised; but stay in the city until you have been clothed with power from on high.
INTENTIONAL LIVING: CLARITY
Every mission has a starting point
WHAT IS YOUR SALVATION STORY?
What do you think of the saying "Preach the Gospel at all times, and when necessary, use words."?
We are called to proclaim the Good News of Jesus Christ
Intentional Living: Clarity
As a church, we will be studying our mission as Christians over the next four weeks. God's mission requires each of us, as believers, to LEVERAGE our lives for His glory.
"The Great Commission is not for a select few; it is for the entirety of the church. The movement of God's mission sweeps across everyday, ordinary lives to draw in business people, soccer moms, grandmothers, neighbors, students, lawyers, teachers, baristas, contractors, white collar, blue collar, or no collar at all."
Today's lesson is where we launch. Jesus is preparing to leave the earth and needs the disciples to understand that they are about to embark on a faith journey that will change the world. He wants the disciples to understand that the mission of God is now the mission of the church.
What is our mission?
What is the Good news?
Where do we proclaim the Good news?
How can they call on the one they have not believed in?
And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard?
And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?
And how can they preach unless they are sent?
As it is written, "How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!"
Or with Peter's words from 1 Peter 3:15...
But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect...
WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE MISSIONAL?
(from a video that refuses to work in prezi...)
May the Lord give us BOLDNESS to open our mouths to proclaim His message to a hurting world.
How does that saying square with Paul's words in Romans 10:14?
who is the ONE?
