The Phantom of the Opera The Phantom of the Opera is a novel by French writer Gaston Leroux. There have been various film and stage adaptations of this book. The most notable of these is
Andrew Lloyd Webber's 1986 musical. 1986 Musical The Phantom of the Opera is a musical by Andrew Lloyd Webber. The music was composed by Lloyd Webber, and most lyrics were written by Charles Hart. The Phantom of the Opera opened in the West End in 1986, and on Broadway in 1988. It is the longest-running musical in Broadway history.
It starred Michael Crawford as the Phantom, Sarah
Brightman as Christine, and Steve Barton as Rauol. 1988 Tony
