CALCULATIONS OF CUTTING FORCES

The concave and convex surfaces to be designed should be of even surface roughness and good finish.
The tool was set at an angle of 60° to machine the job
The spherical job was machined in few minutes from a mild steel rod of 40mm.
The following tests were carried out for the Spherical Turning Lathe Attachment and the following results were obtained-
Observation
Time to machine a job -10mins
Speed - 400 rpm
Feed- 1.5mm
The roughness of the job was acceptably smooth
The tool was set at an angle of 60° to machine the job proved to be appropriate.
