United States... It happens in
New Orleans. 100,000-300,000 children are at risk to be commercially sexually exploited in the United States.* The United States is the second highest
destination for trafficked women in the world.** There were 100 victims found in the
New Orleans/Baton Rouge
area from 2006-2008 alone.* Where is it happening? Sex trafficking AKA Commercial sexual exploitation AKA Forced prostitution Your peers Teenagers and adolescents are the highest at-risk group. The average age of entry into prostitution is Victims of sexual abuse Children in foster care Greed Boyfriend tactic "Trojan horse" Getting hair and nails done constantly Talks about a new,
older boyfriend who
buys her things Has bruises
or tattoos Skipping classes If you see something, don't be afraid to Tell your teachers or parents what you saw Confront your friend Call the trafficking hotline #: 1-888-3737-888 But most of all... Be a friend. The exploitation of a person through force, fraud, or coercion for the purpose of forced labor or commerical sex. sex trafficking? 12-14 years old.
