Two Main Influences: Heredity and Environment

You have most control over your environment but that does not mean heredity parts of personality can differ

Improves your physical health and prevents some diseases
Define Mental/ emotional health
The ability to accept yourself and others, adapt to and manage emotions and deal with demands and challenges met in life

Athletic, artistic and other creative abilities

Level 1-
Physical Needs
: Satisfy basic needs of hunger, thirst and sleep (BASIC SURVIVAL)

Level 2-
Safety:
Need to be secure from danger, EXAMPLE: Safe home or house, trusted family and friends

Level 3-
Belonging
: We need interaction. We get this from sports teams, family, friends and other clubs

Level 4-
Recognized
: We need to feel appreciated personally by friends and family. EXAMPLE: studying for a test, playing an instrument

Level 5-
Potential
: Need for self-actualization. Learning how to set and achieve goals
