Transcript of Yellow Stars

Jewish Yellow Stars By: Claire Schumann where did the idea of having Jews place yellow stars to distinguish themselves originate? Did any Jews fight this requirement? Fun Fact #1: Fun Fact #2: Fun Fact #3: The Star of David has become a premier Jewish symbol. This six-pointed star can be found on mezuzahs, menorahs, tallis bags, and kipot. The six points of the Star of David symbolize God's rule over the universe in all six directions: north, south, east, west, up and down. One idea is that a six-pointed star receives form and substance from its solid center. This inner core represents the spiritual dimension, surrounded by the six universal directions. The Star of David was used by the SS and Nazis to label Jewish people. Jews had no choice but to wear it under Government laws passed in Hitlers day. To the Jews, it is a symbol of tyranny placed on them and will always be a reminder of their horrible experiences.
Some Jews did in fact try to fight this requirement but had to face the consequences, which was being killed. Many Jews kept quiet for fear of consequences.
