Electricity What makes circuits work Conductors and insulators Switches Changing circuits Curcuit diagrams and labels Curcuits need to be complete in order for it to work.Negative and positive sides needs to connect on both sides of the light.Wires need to be at both positive and negative sides in order for electricity to travel around the curcuits properly.Power source can be batterys or mains.Mains electricity is much more powerful then battery's.If you use more then one cell in a curcuit they need to be complete so they are all faceing the same direction.The positive of one cell should connect to the negative.

Some meterials will allow electricity to follow through them.We call this conductors.The metal in the circuit lets electricity to travel through so the bulb will light up.There are lots of diffrent types of insulators example plastic,rubber and grass.Other materials dont allow electricity to go through them so the bulb does not light up.Some wires have plastic coating.The copper is an conductor and caries electricity.The plastic is an insulator and stops electricity from moving into other objects.Metals are very good conductors example steel,copper,iron and gold.Graphite is a type of carbon witch is good to use but most conductors use metal.Graphite is a pencil led . A simple circuit with a cell and a bulb is not useful.Why do you have to remove the wire is to turn the light off and put the wire back together to turn it on.Switches allow you to break a circuit.When the switch turns on the circuit its complete.When the switch is off the circuit is broken.There are 2 types of popular switches push and toggle switches.Switches are used mostly in electricity.These are examples of switches.....calculators,computers,keyboards,kettle and torch. You can change circuits by adding more bulbs or adding more cells.If you add mroe circuits the bulbs will go dimer if you take away some circuits the bulb will glow brighter.If you add to manny circuits to the bulb it will burn out.You can change a circuit by changing its connection to the wire.The longer the wire the dimmer circuit diagrams drawing a circuit is easy when you use symbols to represent the different components.Every component has a symbol just for them.Using circuit symbols to represent any circuit by drawing a circuit diagram when light bulb is working circuit conductor and insulators switches changing circuits when light bulb is burnt out
